The Exidy Sorcerer was the first Z80 computer of DJOE. In 1982, some of
the people that were to become the ORD-GROUP built a "Pac selector" for
the machine; this was before the machine had any floppy drives. Later a
set of two hard-sectored floppy drives was bought for the Exidy, which
sparked the introduction of the CP/M operating system at DJOE. This was
the machine on which we cross-developed DIAMOND
for the ORDINATOR.
After the ORDINATOR got floppy drives in 1984 and single-user CP/M
was running, we built a compatible floppy controller with two floppy drives for another
Exidy. This machine became known as the "Second Exidy"; the original
Exidy was moved into administrative use and no longer used by us.
