Emulator

In October 2002, Luc wrote a very basic emulator of the ORDINATOR system.

You can download the Windows binary distribution; a source distribution will be available later. The distribution includes ROM files which were obtained directly from the original ORDINATOR ROM chips.

This version of the emulator contains the bare minimum to support DIAMOND, but it includes the 64K, 128K and 256K DRAM boards. Note that the 256K board is really the 64K one rebuilt for larger DRAM chips and hence these never actually existed together in the original ORDINATOR.

More emulation is planned, but there really is no point in doing this until some software (preferably the TimeSharing system) can be salvaged. Work is in progress on that, but has borne little fruit so far...

Also included is basic I/O port and memory segment documentation and a small DIAMOND command reference, for those who have forgotten :-)

Running the emulator should produce the following output:
#>:DIAMOND 2.1, 03/06/88
#>:EXTENS 2.2, 04/06/88
#>:
#>
At this point you can type DIAMOND commands.

Good luck with your own personal ORDINATOR!
